Chuck Renter was the assistant director of CNSSP and a member of Third City Sertoma who was instrumental in tying our fund raising activities to the purchase of much needed speech and hearing equipment for the Grand Island school system. As specific needs were identified, they become goals for our fund raising efforts. Chuck worked hard to upgrade the gaming equipment, made signs and kept track of what we purchased for the schools. Chuck passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
To honor him, the club sponsors a scholarship in his name each year that goes to a student from one of the high schools in Grand Island. The Chuck Renter memorial scholarship is awarded every year to a worthy scholar which is chosen by the scholarship committee of 3rd City Sertoma.
Colston is enrolling to UNL and will be majoring in elementary education.
